Here’s How It Works
If your project is one that is simple to quote, or we can get enough information from you over the phone, we can generally provide a quick, free quote. Usually, however, we need to personally visit the area in question and collect important information in order to offer an accurate price quote. We set an appointment for an on site consultation. You may be asked to fill out a questionnaire before your appointment so that we can determine things such as your areas of interest, budget, and likes or dislikes. Our Consultant/Designer will walk through your site and you can tell the consultant about your ideas and budget requirements. The consultant can then offer an overall theme for your project and give you a ballpark price whether it be an hourly rate for certain jobs or a quote on a specific job. Remember that not all projects may need designing, but if a design is requested they will give you an estimate on how many hours it will take to produce & what the charge will be. If you require a plan on paper or a computer generated image/layout, our design-consulting fees range from $65-$95 an hour plus tax depending on the particular design service you require for your project. You may just want an estimate & sketch or you may request computer design/images which take more time & knowledge to prepare for you. It’s all up to you to decide where your money is best spent and how much of a visual you need so ask your consultant if you have any questions or concerns.
Design and EstimatesAfter the initial meeting, we offer an overall estimate, and we may also create a detailed design to go along with it. Although not all projects may need designing, if a design is requested, we’ll provide an estimate on the cost of it’s production. You may just want an estimate & sketch, or you may request computer design/images (involves add’l. time & knowledge to prepare). You to decide where your money is best spent and how many visual aids you need – ask your PPL consultant if you have any questions or concerns. Is paying for a design and some specific advice on your outdoor development too much of an expense? Some people may think so, especially those who don’t find their outdoor space that big of a deal. Unfortunately, this is the type of person who most likely ends up with a high maintenance design that guarantees he/she will be a slave to their yard work. They will ultimately spend more money as this landscape will often need to be redone prematurely to correct any variety of maintenance issues, pre-existing grading conditions that weren’t accounted for, and sometimes even improper drainage that can cause unusable areas. There is no such thing as a “no maintenance plant”, but a planting scheme designed properly combined with sensible maintenance is worth the price. Complete Design ServicesOffering designs ranging from hand sketches, to computer scanning and imaging, and even full color computer drawn to scale CAD drawings. We can design any project for you so you have a plan before the first stone is turned. By either the use of our computer imaging or marking out the property, we can design a project or a plan that can be implemented over several years. Wonder how your house would look if you removed those overgrown shrubs around the house? With a digital design, we can show you the difference of before and after and what’s possible. You’ll be amazed at the new look your home can have. Having trouble visualizing what you want your landscape to look like? Let our expert designers show you the possibilities without even turning a stone… Some larger projects like plantings and backyard area renovations may need a scaled drawing to better visualize where everything is located. We have the software to help you do just that. We also can provide color photos of plant material and paver/wall material to help you visualize the results.
